24 august 2020

Kaluga Turbine Works (KTZ) signed an agreement with JSC Rusatom Infrastructure Solutions (JSC RIR), a division of Rosatom State Corporation, for the supply of turbines for the Severskaya CHPP.

KTZ will manufacture and supply two sets of steam turbines with a nominal capacity of 30 MW each for the branch of JSC RIR in the city of Seversk. The enterprise will also manufacture and supply a complete set of auxiliary equipment, including oil supply system, high and low pressure heaters, sealing ejectors, pipelines. The scope of delivery will include synchronous generators and automated control systems for a steam turbine unit (ACS STU).

New KTZ turbines will be installed to replace T-100 turbines produced by the Kharkov Turbine Works, which have exhausted their service life. In 2025, the turbines produced by KTZ will make it possible to compensate for the retired capacities of the T-25 and PT-25 turbines produced by the Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod. These turbines were installed at the station in 1953 - they worked at the CHPP for over 67 years.

According to the contract, the first batch of equipment shall be delivered by August 2022, the second batch - no later than October 2022. The supply will be carried out in accordance with the project "Modernization of the CHPP for the RIR JSC branch in the city of Seversk" implemented under the state program for modernization of generating facilities of thermal power plants for 2022-2024. (COMMod).

Severskaya CHPP is one of the largest power facilities in the Tomsk region, located next to the Siberian Chemical Combine. The CHPP was put into operation on a staged basis in 1953-1961. It produces heat and electric power for the needs of the combine and the restricted-access entity of Seversk. Electric power capacity is 449 MW, heat capacity is 1713.8 Gcal/h.
