Kaluga Turbine Works will manufacture a turbine for the Kirishskaya SDPP

15 july 2020

Kaluga Turbine Works (KTZ) will manufacture and supply a double-casing modified steam turbine with a nominal capacity of 65 MW and auxiliary equipment to the Kirishskaya SDPP (part of PJSC OGK-2). KTZ products meet up-to-date requirements in terms of reliability and safety and are intended for the scheduled replacement of the plant equipment that has exhausted its service life.

The turbine system will use a steam flow pattern with a flow rotation of 180°. Previously, such machines were made with a direct-flow steam pattern. This and other design modifications will increase the total power of the upgraded machine relative to the base one by 8%.

In accordance with the contract, the delivery of the turbine, condenser and auxiliary equipment is scheduled for May - June 2021.

Kirishskaya SDPP is the largest thermal power plant of the United Energy System (UES) of the North-West. The installed electric capacity of the power plant is 2595 MW, the installed thermal capacity is 1234 Gcal/h.
